With 2012 off to a fantastic start lets take the time to update everyone on the current Bumz in the Las Vegas chapters. 2011 has a growing year and we had to cut the fat of a lot of members that either seemed to lose interest in goals of the squad or for whatever reason no longer want to be involved.Squad. Some of our greatest successes last year was setting up a weekly BumsquReunion and Video Dj conference.

Here is what the Vegas BUMZ have been up to!

DJ Audissey aka Joseph-Sol – The DJ/Singer/Musician/Production by way of Honolulu released his OFFICIAL music video for my song “So In Love (All My Life). It was produced by Jake Akuna of Akuna Entertainment! This is the second single off his debut solo release “Overdue” available on iTunes. He has been well received in Las Vegas gigging consistently downtown DJ and performing. He is currently working on a new album under Joseph Soul so be on the look out for that! www.djaudissey.com

DJ BIZ-ROK – Power 88 and Swurvradio.com DJ has been currently overseas serving in the Military but will be returning in Feb 2012 to do some damage!!! So keep an eye on DJ Biz Rock – www.djbizrok.com

DJ CRIME – International Touring Video DJ, Visual Director, VJ Challenge Winner at WMC 2010. DJ Crime is well known among Video DJs and Fans across the globe for his sleek video edits and insane big room video shows. Last years video mixes “The Sextape” and “Rise” have gotten quite a lot of attention, but his dub-tech-55-intro mash-up for the new Technine snowboard movie “The Arena” has gone the most attention. DJ E-SWIFT – Multi-Platinum producer and Hip-Hop Legend. DJ E-Swift is still Headlining Vegas Clubs while still producing some of the hottesthits for the up and coming members of the likwid crew. Swift is currently in the studio finishing tracks for a collaboration CD between the Alkaholiks and the Beatnuts to be entitled #liknuts.

DJ GOODVYBE – Called a Certified Party Rocker by other dj’s in the industry. His ability has enabled him to play at nearly every major nightclub in the state of Hawaii and has allowed him to dj in a few major cities like Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and even internationally at some of the biggest nightclubs in Taiwan. Currently Resident DJ at Gold Diggers Friday and Saturday Nights located downtown inside the The Golden Nugget Casino. Deejay Mr Goodvybe! does exactly what his name states…brings a GOODVYBE to the party!!!

DJ MIKA GOLD – Las Vegas’ Sexiest DJ has been touring internationally and while holding down casino nightclubs and pools locally. A celebrity favorite Mika has been hand selected to play many private parties for A-list talent. Mika Gold recent residencies include: NikkiBeach Las Vegas, Foundation room, Rhumbar, Harrahs Pool After Dark, and Kokomos, Lake Havasu. Mika has become is a staple in the vegas nightlife scene while playing around the world including shows in Norway, Amsterdam, Montreal, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, The Philippines and China with many more to come. DJ N.I.N.O. – Resident at Planet Hollywood’s The Heart Bar as well as a weekly radio show the “Drive at 5” every Friday at 5pm on KCEP Power 88. N.I.N.O. is also spinnin in select LA nightspots and has been the AVN awards hosting DJ and the featured DJ @ 2011 NAMM Show for Allen & Heath in Anahiem. N.I.N.O. has been a key in building the Bumsquad brand holding down one of the most prestigious VDJ gigs at Planet Hollywood’s Heart Bar (Las Vegas), with an entire Casino patched into his system he spins for 3000-5000 people on the 4 biggest nights of the week. DJ RECTANGLE – The long-time DMC Champion and legendary battle scratcher has just returned from a 3-month tour in Australia, now residing in Vegas by way of Los Angeles, Rectangle still stuns

DJ RH FACTOR – Drumz clothing Royalty, Resident DJ at the Griffin downtown for ThhhhhEeee Paaarrtttyyyy and international touring DJ that recently held down direct tour support for DJ Motiv8 of the BEP’s World Tour. RH Factor is always producing cutting edge electro dance remixes to bring a new flavor to the scene. Currently touring the world with a weekly stops in Las Vegas and studio production in-between. DJ QUE – Resident DJ at the Light Group. DJ Que performs weekly at Caramel Lounge on Tuesdays, Revolution Lounge on Wednesdays and Jet on Thursdays and during Pool season at Liquid inside Aria. During his off time he tours and teaches up and coming female DJs how to scratch it up. http://dj-que.com/

NEWEST Recruits

DJ LAVA – splitting time between Hawaii and Las Vegas, DJ Lava has been pushing the levels of video dubstep djs everywhere. After teaming with DJ Crime his latest edits have a set a standard to which other edits are compared. Featured on WOMP TV and other respected sites DJ Lava has been getting a lot of attention as of late. He has also been holding down key residencies and playing major festivals on the islands.

DJ BIZ:E! MNSTR! – this turntable-list, DJ, producer can be heard slicing up anything from hip hop, funk, and jazz to dubstep, grime, and electro at one of his many downtown residencies or on the strip playing casino clubs. He is currently trying to take the leap from DJ to succesful producer. He is currently holding down tuesdays at Nickel Beer Night and Thursdays at the Cathouse. Keep an eye out on this MNSTR!

DJ AURA JIN – this longtime downtown resident DJ has also been a fixture at the Get Back for seven years, dating back to when the monthly post-First Friday gathering was just a house party. An avid Vinyl collector and student of DJ culture you can find Aura Jin rocking the downtown scene 4 to 7 days outta the week.

With Bum involvement on the rise we have seen a rise in interest among prospective DJs looking to join our ranks. This can be contributed to the success of the Bumsquad reunions and the overall presence and demeanor of Bumz worldwide. DJ Makasi from Belgium and DJ Res-Q from Paris both recently submitted applications to join out international ranks of DJs. While the verdict is till out the future is promising for these potential family members. in 2012 our goals are to continue to push the Bumsquad brand promote more unity among Bumz in our chapter and worldwide. Keep an eye out for the Las Vegas chapter to continue to grow and prosper.

Current trends in Local Music — The EDM takeover has been in full effect for years and it has become increasingly more popular. The message has become clear make a hit or scrape for shit. In the Local Hip-Hop scene, Hip-Hop Roots celebrated its 200th consecutive weekly show and has set his sight on taking his positive hip-hop framework to other cities. The show which focuses on Artists supporting Artists to unify the scene has already started monthly chapters in San Diego and Salt Lake City, Utah. Hip-Hop Roots founder and MC Highdro said this is just the beginning and has his sites set on cities across the globe. Local rapper Dizzy Wright who recently signed with Funk Volume has been on tour with Hopsin and SwiZz is set to drop his first full length LP “Smoked Out Conversations” after a string of successful mixtape releases. Dizzy has over 4 music videos with over 100,000 views and has been featured on sites like XXL amongst others. He is
possibly the biggest rapper to EVER come out of Las Vegas. Keep an eye on this young rapper who has been argued as being better than Wiz Kalifa.

In Local events, DJ Crime is performing at FUNKTION feb 2nd at Harmon Theater. RH Factor is performing with Gas Lamp Killer Feb 10th at Beauty Bar. Crime, RH and BIZ:E! will all be perfroming at DUBCORE where dubstep meets metal Feb 17th at Beauty bar. The Green Party 7 will be popping off Feb 21st at Hip-Hop Roots at LVCS and DJ Crime will be headling the Glass Gripper Champs afterparty at the Palms Hardwood Suite Feb 22nd.
